Create, Cultivate, Educate Fine Arts Showcase

Thursdays and Fridays in April & May

Pekin Main Street, Tazewell County Regional Office of Education and Tazewell County are partnering to bring music, art drama and speech to downtown Pekin with our weekly showcase. The talents of local young artists, grades K-12, will be spotlighted each week with performances by area school bands, choirs, orchestras and visual artists. This runs April 12th-May 18th.

Downtown Farmer's Market

Weekly, Thursdays June 21 thru September 20th

Open-air market featuring locally grown fresh produce, delicious baked goods, flowers and herbs, crafts, organic items and arts. Free, live entertainment periodically on the Courthouse lawn. Held on Capitol Street, opposite the Courthouse. LINK Cards and WIC/Senior Benefit Vouchers are accepted.

Vendor information and applications will be available in mid-April or early May.

Pekin Main Street Super Cruise

Friday, July 27 & Saturday, July 28

Downtown Pekin fills up with beautifully restored to new model cars, trucks & bikes for this 8th annual popular event. Last year over 6,000 people attended this event to view over 1000 cars, trucks and bikes on display. Live music, food & vehicle related vendors, awards and spirits will be available. Free registration for vehicle display.

Family Event, although alcohol will be sold.

Friday Night Family Fest

Friday, September 7, 5:00pm to 10:00pm

Popular downtown fun event which kicks-off the annual Marigold Festival. Features five hours of free entertainment on two stages, huge variety of food vendors, soft drinks and kid activities.

Downtown Drive-In

August and September - weather permitting!

Join us downtown for a movie on the big screen right on Court Street! A great family activity! Dates and movies will be announced in early June.

Halloween Fun Fair and Downtown Trick or Treating

Halloween Fun and games on the courthouse lawn and trick or treating at participating downtown merchants. It's so fun, it's scary!

Christmas on Court Luminary Walk

Friday, December 9, 5:00pm to 8:00pm

Over 1,000 candlelight luminaries bathe downtown Pekin with a warm, festive glow for this early evening Business Open House. Strolling carolers, horse-drawn carriage rides, outdoor theatre and photos with Santa.
